I've got a Corsa GSI and i've recently had a 1.6 16v sport engine fitted only it seems to be drinking a lot of petrol. I'm getting about 190 miles to £30.00 of fuel. Does anyone alse have a 1.6 sport and how much petrol does it use?

Sounds like it's running horribly rich at cruise, and an emissions test should confirm this. Get a garage to check.
The guy operating the machine ought to know the signs of rich running like the back of his hand. I think you'll get high CO and low CO2.
Bit of surrounding info:
As the carburettor ages, especially now we use unleaded petrol, it begins to over fuel. (I think it's down to erosion of the jets.) There is an idle mixture adjustment screw on the carb, and setting the idle mix is a service item, but all this does is to compensate at idle by letting a bit of clean air in, bypassing the carb (basically). This is good enough to get it through its MOT but once you get past idle, the compensation has little effect. (It's not designed to!)
What to do about it:
Well, you need a new carburettor, I recommend get one from a scrap yard from an older but slightly lower mileage car. (The idea being that it would have done most of its miles on leaded petrol.) You then need to put it on and get the emissions rechecked - mixture should be good even when revved.
It's likely the "new" carb will suffer from the same problem a little bit, but with a bit of luck it'll be much better. Get some old/new emissions figures for comparison.
Good luck, let us know how you get on!

Do a search, this topic is becoming more popular than the induction kits.

A technician at work told me today that he could smell fuel on my 1.4 8v, and to get a new engine temperature sensor, as it thinks the engine is cold all the time, so is injecting more fuel

Thats bad man, I used to get around 300 miles to a tank which is about £32-£33. But now I get 250 to a tank, dunno why, just put up with it, yet yours is massively out.
