Aprillia RS50 nice bikes, quick too. But £800 might be a problem.

And why do you want a 50 when you have a car, a 250+ i could understand but a 50??

on a cbt you can have a restricted 125cc on L plates up to about 12 bhp I think - but most people ride em unrestricted as no one can really tell (34 bhp) ...

Gilera's are piles of wank mate...

this is a gilera dna runner - yuk!

read what it says 'MAX SPEED 47mph' do you want that???? !?!?!

unrestricted 125 Aprilia RS does 110mph+ and does 0-60 in about 7 seconds...

I know your on a budget, and thus it's probably not best to look for a really new bike ...

Aprilia did the AF1 from 1988-1992 (only the 1992 imported model looked nice) and then did the RS from 1993+

A nice RS Extrema would probably be fairly cheap + have that 34 bhp performance in a frame only weighing about 129kg (you do the math on power/weight)

I am the same as you, I've always wanted a bike, but always wanted a car - and having a car I can't afford much for a bike... but thats why I had my eyes open for a 'needs repair' bike and picked up my bike for cheap. Ok its still sitting in the shed because I haven't got round to fixing it - but when I do, I'll have got a bike for a bargain!

keep your eyes on ebay - its always got the odd 'bike repair' advert - or cheap aprilia.

Absolute bargain for the mileage + year...

1998 only 4000 miles, 125cc rossie rep apprilia RS and its only £870

you can restrict any bike - normally to 33bhp until people have a full license

dont bother getting a 50cc - a push bike is quicker off the lights

as good as aprilias are they need lots of attention - a cheap one may cost a fortune to repair

yup providing your 17 or 18 (I think) you can have a 125cc with only cbt...

I think its only when your 16 you can only have a 50cc I believe...

yeh has to be restricted to 33 bhp but get a aprilia RS and most are de-restricted already... a simple case of removing powervalve to restrict it - but you don't wanna do that... keep the powervalve on and its 34 bhp.

Chaz in working out the bhp/tonne don't forget to add your weight

I reckon you'd easily find a RS 125 extrema like the black one for under £800!

Most are fine providing they've had regular oil changes and stuff - even if it does seize up its not too hard to unseize may need new piston rings but thats all.
