a garage told me my lambda sensors "tired" and will need replacing soon.
i know its on the exhaust manifold and reads the gasses coming from the engine but what happens if it fails? to fit them is a simple case of screwing them in right? will they need resseting or anything?

probs wont notice it much if it fails, may affect engine but not much.
Just unscrw, and replace!

It monitors the oxygen content in the exhaust gases so it knows the air - fuel ratio. At part throttle it then uses it to keep fueling optimum to increase economy. If it fails you'll get poorer fuel comsumption.

As said they can get 'lazy' and not show up a fault.
