i had this prob with my fully de locked nova, what i did was run two ignition wires out the car, insulate them and in an emergency you can jump the battery of the the ignition wires and another battery.

Never had to use it, but i was told about by a bloke on the max power stand at donny

i found a corsa in aq scrap yard with a colour coded delocked driver handle, might take it to delock mine fully
but then yea you have the problem of your remote going flat, but then if my remote went flat i couldnt get in my car anyway cos the alarm would be armed

Which is exactly what i plan to do to mine, but i'll still have the boot lock so i can get in, a bit more tricky if your boots been flushed.

Munchie any chance of some photos? I've wanted to remove my handles for a LONG time now but anyone else who has done it before would be a big plus!
