im making a start on my boot install today. I have to fix a wooden platform into the spare wheel well for the yellow top to be mounted on, but how do i go about fixing it? Just screw through the wood and metal? What should i seal it with to stop rust etc? Any advice appreciated! Matt

when i did mine i used heavy duty velcro and hard as nails....
i first used soime thin MDF - 6mm and velcored that too the floor - in 2 halfs with the spare wheel hole cut out,
Then i used some wooden supports, stretched along the boot - used hard as nails to secure them to the 6mm stuff
then i used velcro to secure the top layer of carpeted 12 or 18mm ( can't rem) MDF down... cause then you can get your spare out easier, which i don't have n e more so i don't really know why i built it like that
n e ways it hasn't budged and it's been like it for at least 5 months

sounds more like it to me mate! I dont have spare wheel, no point in having a 14" steely spare with 17" wheels on the rest! I need access to behind the rear lights too for when bulbs blow, so velcro sounds like a good idea. What ive made so far fits pretty well anyway, needs a bit of force to lift the centre section out.
