No-one can see your details.
Paypal acts as a 3rd party to any transactions you make. You send the money from your account via them to the buyers/sellers account.
I have been using Paypal for over 2 years and have had no trouble whatsover and eBay for almost 5 years.
Paypal is also owned by eBay now.
