i have gmax 60mm drop springs. has any1 fitted these on standard shocks if so how long will they last? would it be better to wait and fit shortened shocks at the same time?

you'll suffer from a very boucy ride, standard shocks will die within months depending on driving style...

better to fit new uprated shox as well mate, the standard ones wont last too long tbh!

If you are gonna get them pretty soon after then either live with it cuz if you kill the standard shocks and you aint gonna want them again then no loss, but one thing to think about is two lots of fitting costs, enless you are doing it or a mate etc

my car has been dropped 60mm on standard shocks for bout 17 months now, and only just now the rear shock has gone

my experiences-
I had PI lowering springs on my std 1.4 sport shocks for around 1yr...
The shocks lasted, the springs did not.
The ride was ok, not too rough, and not at all too bouncy (id say it rode better than a Avo kit day to day town driving)
You will have to watch come MOT time too... 60mm rears have a tendancy to pop out of the mounts where the car is fully raised on std 'longer' shocks

yes adam my front 1s just got through mot if u jack it up they will come away from the top so when u lower it back down they have to go back with out been pushed back in to place luckly mine droped back in just got through like

hehe.... its a bucket!
Its my wee track corsa thingy, the bucketV1 (version1 - 2.0 16v, 165bhp)
Its way too low on the back but the coilovers seemed to have seized. I have not had a chance to get it on a car lift to knock the shit out of them yet.... dont fancy trying it on axle stands etc as i'll prob knock the car off knowing me
makes the car a bit arse happy that low, and hard! adj dampning on one strut seems to be broken too. Dial just spins round and round. Bloody AVO's  i think i will splash out on LEDA's when i get it going in V2 spec

there is a paper in the box saying i need to use shortened bump stops. id i really need these? if so where can i get them.

Harder bumpstops such as Polyurethene ones that powerflex sell shorten damper life if it rides tham a lot. So its saying with Gmax springs and standard dampers you need shortened bumpstops? If I were you i'd keep the original GM ones in but they will only last about 6-8months as they are soft foam. I wouldnt upgrade to powerflex ones as they are too hard, try Jamex rubber bumpstops or keep replacing them with GM ones but they are pretty costly!

Cut them with a hacksaw. Obviously they will need to be removed first. I wouldnt advise it cos the originals are very soft anyway. You'll hardly notice the difference.
