now i got ur attention

Windows XP Service Pack 1 (Express)* UPDATE

i have downloaded it but it wont install says i have 2 disable my anti-virus program which i did but still wont install

any reasons y it wont install??

uninstall your virus program then do the sp1 update and install virus program again after???

Have ya tried disabeling Norton in your bios. This is what i had to do.

norton isnt in the system bios, its just 3rd party app

even if virus protection was enabled in the bios, it wouldn't make a difference to the installation of SP1, as it doesnt modify the boot sector.

where it comes up saying access denied, you sure you have full admin rights & your not just a power user of limited user?

if its xp home, boot the machine into safe mode (press F8 when you turn on machine & keep pressing till the boot menu comes up), select safe mode & continue

when it comes to logon screen, click Administrator, there is no password on XP Home, but for Pro, there might of been one set.

try install SP1 in safe mode

u say u downloaded the sp1 program, did u do that via autoupdate in the start menu, or just downloaded it
