i'm thinking of cuting the piece off the bumper ive highlighted in the picture but ive noticed that theres a metal piece behind this

Is it alright to cut out the metal piece also or is this important?

u can cut it out of the bumper
but not the metal this is the slam panel never cut this
just cut out the plactic bit and put some mesh in there

Probably a good idea to keep the slam panel, it keeps your bonnet shut, aswell as providing a lot of the strength at the front of the car, holding bumper, lights, radiator etc

I wanna cut this out aswell. Would it be ok to put a aftermarket grill in place somehow? If so how is it achieved? Cable ties and screws?

Any filling involved?

are you gonna fail an mot without a slam panel at all? just a thought maybe not...
