I'm fitting a bfo cone to my corsa b, 1997 p reg 1.2 vegas. Does anyone know where the bit in the photo goes once the airbox is removed?

aye, pull the red wire of the base of teh box then put a self tapper screw into the end of the red wire
put the red wire up out of the road, i put mine in the scuttle

it controls the flap in the base of the airbox that allows the engine to suck warm air of the exhaust manifold when the engine is cold
you can run the car fine without it
