Author how easy is it to take the rear axel off???

getting my astra axel 2night and i need 2 swap ends over for rear disks

how easy is it to take rear axel off and prop car up? what would i support it from? cheers

use axel stands to hold car up then use yer jack to take the wieght of the rear axel. Undo all the bolts and the brake lines then lower axel down.

is it a corsa yer doing it to? if so its a piece of piss to get he rear beam off once u have the right tools.

i have all the tools, im just worried that it will be stuck on seeing as it hasnt been off in 10 years!

need it done by sat night as ive a cruise and national meet

nah it wont i was putting in shocks and springs the other week which meant partially undoing the rear beam and its 10 years old also and had no probs. Actually really easy.


just take your time and think about it and u'll have no bother

the hardest part will be getting the breaking pipes back working again and its not even hard just fidly

why did you have to undo the rear beam to change the shox's and springs?

id have thought you just needed to undo the bottom shock bolt on the beam

i didnt undo it to put my coilovers on

gonna soak it 2night if its not frozen solid lol

i bent the axle on my corsa ages and ages ago when i had a slight, wheel meets kirb encounter .
It was really straight forward 2 put the new axle on. You will be able to get it off no probs.

my wheel is v close to the arch at the back on the drivers side and rubs sumtimes whereas the wheel on the passsenger side had a 1cm gap! sum i try moving the axel across, is this possible??

exaclty! i did say Partialy undoing the rear beam
