induction kit will loose power over standard, drilled airbox or an enclosed filter like viper (silly money though).

prove it
its allredy been proved that a drilled air box with K&N panel filter produces more power than a induction kit
if u wanna spend £200 on a viper kit then go for it, i personaly dont think its worth it but u want the best induction kit so thats what ull have to pay

Righty, the best INDUCTION kit, tbh, there really isn't one. Sticking with the large companies like K+N, Pipercross, and the new PVD air filters (NOT BFO) will always be the best as they stop most of the dust particals from entering the engine. Budget kits like Simota/Green etc allow loads of sh1te into the engine.
Best sealed induction kit is teh PiperX viper. Sealed units work very well on vauxhall engines.
As said, drilling the airbox and putting an aftermarket panel filter will give similar gains to that of a sealed air filter.
Induction ktis are purly for noise, will only give 1-2bhp and in some cases loose power!!

sorry for the newb question, drilling the airbox would dat let a load of crap get in the engine?

Nahh, your drill a load of smallish holes. It does allow a certain amount of sh1t to come in, but the panel filter will stop the crap the same way the induction kit does.
Panel filter is bascially a flat induction kit. Wont draw in hot air, and has a lot less chance of getting sh1te inside. Induction kit is exposed remember

cone filters reduce the restriciton made by the air box. the actual difference between all the makes of filter are tit for tat. get a green, K&N, Pipercross, BFO. just depends on what you fancy or what you can afford. personally I would stick to a big name.

BFO sounds the best. no induction kit apart from viper will give you alot of gains so induction kits are for noise. So BFO is the winner cos of the fucking size of it
