i went a few weeks back, go up emprie state building b4 it gets dark and stay up there until they switch the city lights on, is amasing up there. statue of liberty is cool to see, you can get a ferry to the island but cant go up it any more. Ground Zero is interesting to see kinda eerie. Times Square is good, especially at night, has a cool toys r us! hmmm then erm broadway is good for shops, altho didnt do much shopping so cant say where else. Check out some of the trolly pushing tramp in central Park, and the taxi drivers r mental, and most of them as much about the city as you do!

went there xmaz just gone - amazing! stayed in the Mayflower hotel looking out on central park - seen the dude from 3rd rock from the sun while walking through the park - he said 'HI THERE' then i noticed who it was - NY is wicked man - wanna go back
check out Times Square and hang around outside the MTV TRL studio and u get on TV for sure - empire state building is good - gotta check out the dodgy dudes selling stuff in the streets - they got some proper bling, bling and dvd's and that - also statue of liberty (ask taxi driver to head to Battery Park - Staton Island ferry - think that's how u spell it) the ferry is free and takes right past the statue
oh and if u go into toys r us on times square say hello to the little black greeter dude - well funny
