I have a 1.2 16v corsa B (T reg 1999)

Sometimes when pulling off from traffic lights the car will initially accelerate but then lose power, can be dangerous when your got a car coming at you broadside!

Happens when the engine is stone cold and just started up as well, you can hardly get it to move.

Also somtimes the revs drop briefly when it's restarted when its been left only a short while and still a bit warm.

I've done the following so far:

1. Checked air mass flowmeter, clean as a whistle.
2. Changed and gapped plugs. Has a DIS module so no leads to change.
3. Happens with Airbox and induction kit so it's not due to that or flatspots etc.
4. No obvious cracks in air intake.
5. Had the throttle body appart, cleaned it and checked it wasn't sticking.

When it gets really bad the ECU warning light comes on, I can't use the paperclip trick as i have a motronic 1.5.5 ecu with diffent pins.

I'm not overly keen on taking it to vauxhall to diagnose and fix because i've heard stories of people being charged to change various sensors that were not at fault.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Had the car for 12 months and its done it from day one

it's becuase your trying to put your foot down before the car has warmed up. the light will most likly be the erg valve. too much throttle is clogging up your erg valve causing the light to come on

But it does it when the car has done about 5 miles.... or do you think that could be a blocked EGR?
