the 1.2 16v has 78 break, and pulls nicely

The 1.4 has 60bhp does it not? If this is the case it would be slower. Someone please correct me if i am wrong though.

depends if the 1.4 is a high torque version or not.
the 1.2 16v would be faster than the 1.4 8v if it isn't hi torque.

Hi-torq's were 62ps, the MPI (SRi engines) were 82ps.

all 1.2 16v corsa will be slightly quicker than your 1.4 8v. not much quicker though.

it also depends on what spec/weight the car is. My 1.4 8v spi hi-tor isnt running anything apart fron the alternator, if your car has power steering and/or aircon you can knock at least 5-10 bhp off the usable power as its used to turn the pumps. Also the corsa C is a little heavier than the B (all the extra saftey etc) so your Bhp/Kg alters. My dad had a astra with the 1.4 8v mpi 82bhp motor but cos of the extra weight and the ps pump it only felt as quick as my corsa, but now he's got a Zafira GSI that leaves mine standing .
