I think the main reason his engined blew was due to driving an old rusty arched astra/nova

in fact, a noticable performance increase could probably be noticed on a large engined car, say a 3.0 V6, V8 engined car. To say that optimax does not increase performance is untrue, since it has a higher octane rating, meaning the timing has changed during chemical reaction within the cylinders, thus increasing efficency and maximum output. Only works on engines with a knock sensor rather than a manual RON plug, since it is hard to trace 98RON plugs for engines
