not sure if this looks about right, but starting planning on stage 2 of the corsa
need to get dimensions of the calibra floorplan still, but I think this is a rough idea of what I need to cut out of the corsa (floor & inner-arches (pos cos of suspension)) but will know more when I get the donor car.
(blue = to be cut out)

get it on some scales
There might be a few scrappies which have a weighbridge near you. One I'm taking mine to is about 2 mins away in car, and shouldn't cost anything to weigh!

I've added nearly 80kg to my car
JR, go down Longfield to PinBins and weigh it on there. Accurate to 7kg i think. Thats where i weighed mine and it came out at 1.02tonnes.
£2.50 or £3 or summit. Just turn up.
Would be interesting to see what it weighs. U need some lightweight 15"s as well, bin those brakes for 4 pots and did Matt fit a lightened flywheel?
Theres 20-40kg odd there alone with those three mods.

Anyone want to donate a few £££££'s so that I can make a carbon fibre Astra Coupé shell and I'll join the club.

4x4 LET corsa
Very nice?
Not thought about a Twin LET conversion? Getting them in would be easy enough (well, easy ish ) but mating them up, gear linkages etc would be pretty hard.
What 4x4 system are you going to use? Would love to see this Mid engined 4wd
Thoguht about making it just RWD?? Prob easier than 4x4 as well. And can be tail happy

have toyed with twin LET, but like you say joining gear linkages & mating them all up would be a bitch, plus if they need to be producing pretyt much the same amount of poer & torque or they'll be fighting over each other which can cause problems
Plus where would the fuel tank go? I want to have a 2nd seat in the front to scare the shit outa ppl by taking them round the track or something
4x4 system will be from a calibra, but with the prop being shortend, plus will be running same track width as the calibra turbo, so using all origianl shafts & hubs, should keep costs down a bit then for maintenance as won't keep needing to get custom fit jobs (unless the prop fooks off)
so far costing it to be around 3-4k to convert the car to 4x4, includes donor car & budget for parts, and as will be doing most work myself (with a little help off my uncle), should keep costs down further!
