Just bought a 2.0 16v Calibra from the scrappys the other day for £400
the engine its self is in very good condition with just under 100,000 miles on clock, no blue smoke when running just when starting it up. body work is rusting badly at bak and dare'nt have a good look under it, lol. Anyway the plan is to do a conversion into the corsa, havent really planned to do this so soon, due to lack of money but it was just such a find!!! wot i want to know is on a very rough scale how much in total it is going to cost really and any problems i'm going to find???
Cheers

you'll need a Cossvaux fitting kit , between £470 and £560. Then labour, depends where you go - anywhere between £600 - £1500 for labour. Problems, so long as its fitted properly then only problems you'll have are those related to a 100K miles old engine, im told the hard part is the wiring loom and ive heard of LOTS of conversions where the wiring loom hasnt been done 'professionally' has shorted on bodywork etc and fried! Sump gasket leak is common as feck, you'll want a new cambelt, possibly clutch, new plugs, leads and dissy would be an idea and give the thing a good service.
As for exhaust, its either a case of custom manifold back or you can* bodge a pipe between exiting system and the manifold although this can mean power restrictions.

blue smoke on start up is likely to be the valve stem seals
