I've had my DT for 6 months now. They are great engines. Strong, reliable and easily tuneable. All this in a car with handling that pisses all over corsas without being touched.

Get the fuel pump sorted and boost upped properly, and u'll be running 115bhp+ and 170lb/trq straight away.

Front Mounted IC, hybrid turbo and 130+bhp is easily achievable, with 225+lb/trq.

Induction kits do nothing for these engines, nor do exhausts really. Unnoticeable difference apart from the sound. They absolutely roar on full song.

Fiesta 1.25?? Pah....they eat 1.4 16v Zetec-Ss, especially on the motorway. The mid range power is lovely.

Unless u have full history of the oil/coolant/regular services, then stay away. Oh, and they are french, so build quality is pretty poor.

Matt

PS: The induction kit will not fit directly due to the way the air box is on the TD. Its easily done tho using rubber pipe, then make metal brackets up to hold the cone.

Thing is with the 306 TD, its very hard to get the tuning done perfectly....

Its well worth paying the £100 that the derv doctor charges to get it done perfectly.

I went to a RR day, and there were 2 other tuned 1.9 DTs there. We all went on the rollers. Mine was done by Derv Doctor (Gav), and one done by Allard Turbosport and the other, the lad had done himself.

I got 118, Allards one 114bhp and the other kid had 101 but it filled the whole place with thick smog!! He retuned it, and now thinks he has the fasted Ph1 tuned 306 around.....even tho he's running 22PSi on the std intercooler and turbo

If u get it wrong, they smoke like there is no 2morro, u'll be boosting 20+PSi and fuel consumption will go out the window.

Thats my 2P s worth anyway, and thats what 95% of people on PGAC will tell u too.

Matt
