I've had mine pierced for about 3yrs now when they first do it they put a massive bar in and your wonderign y!!! the next day you know coz it swells like fcuk!!! But the actual piercing doesnt hurt over too quickly it will just depend on how long your toung takes to heal itself and gets used to it afterwards that determines the swelling.
