my engine is sounding very "ticky",
its very load when idling too.
my gears feel hard, and my gearstick wobbles and makes lots of noise when im sat still, ie: at lights.
is this the noisy nature of the 1.0 12v? or is mine in need of some work?

have u checked the engine and gearbox oil to see if there reading low?
Cud also be a broken engine mount but i doubt this as the 1.0 isnt exactly a beast engine lol

I had the same problems with my 1.0 12v the hard gears could be the linkages, i had those replaced and the wobbling of the gearstick i dont think, is anything to worry about. The ticky engine could just be ware and tare i just took mine in for a good service.

the ticking noise comes from the cam-chain as it gets worn it ticks louder.
changing the oil on it regularly on this engine seems to keep it quiet.
the other thing is the ICV may not be working properly causing the car to rev low and making the engine shudder, ICV is a common problem on the 1 litre engines

my oil is fine,
but how do i check my gearbox oil???????????

i got exactly same problem with my car. i took it in for service and no one knows what has happened to it. vauxhall think its the cam-chain needs tightening. goes bout 50k. mines at 48k now. cost about £450 to get it done. any news on ur, gimme a shout.
