Oh no... That's not it... I took pictures of all "stages"... First they were all machined, then they were drilled (that's why that holes) then the angles were smoothened and then they were painted...
All that is just to reduce weight.

The C16XE responds slightly better to mild tuning for all the reasons described above, but the differences are not that great. Once you do more serious tuning, like flowing the head, these differences pretty much disappear. I'm running 214bhp on my X16XE using TBs, which is as good if not better than any C16XE I've come across. So don't be put off by the fact you have a X16XE engine - they're superb!

Well, the reason that all this was made, is because I've been reading that with ONLY a better induction system, this engines can reach over 150bhp.
How are you going to get a 48+BHP gain from changing the air filter setup?

You'd have been cheaper/better off buying motorsport wheels.
Nice car though, good that your keen on trying new things

I meant the whole induction system, including the four TBIs and new management. Only a VERY silly person would DREAM of getting such horsepower figures from changing only the air filter...
About the wheels: Maybe it would be a better thing if you ask how many weight we were able to save instead of talk like this, for a very simple reason: There ain't "motorsport" wheels available here. At least for a reasonable price. (reasonable = just a little bit less than half of the price of the whole car). No doubt that it would be better, but even less doubt that it would be way more expensive... Besides, I don't have to charge myself for the job...
Sorry if it sounds a little bit "hostile", but the way you said things, made me look like some kind of crazy person doing silly things... But thats maybe only because you guys are not used to a place where the market is still in a very rudimentar form... Most things have to be custom made or imports. And imports are very expensive for people that ride corsas around here...

No worries mate!
I was a little confused with what you meant with the induction!
I think you should have a good look for Motorsport wheels as there is definately a big market over where you are.

Well, our market has its particularities... Some brands even export wheels to USA and Europe, like Binno does. But no one fabricates lightweight wheels around here. The best you can get for a normal price is OZ Superleggera, but is still much more expensive than our brazilian TSWs.
Other brands that are very common in other places, simply doesn't exist here. It is even rare to see BBS wheels! I know this very well, because we used to work with wheels and tyres from 89 till a couple years ago... We even made our own 17 and 18 wheels! They were very cool!
If something is expensive in the place where it came from, here it will be at least doble the price. I'm talking about double in Euros, Dollars, etc.
Convert it to our money and thing gets uglier! Wanna know what third world means? It means that the average worker earns US$ 300/month (i mean the kind of people that can really participate of the car market and aftermarket, because the REAL average worker receives something like 90 dollars/month or less) and the imports costs twice as expensive in comparison to the place they were made! And you still have the freight...
Well, no complains. Here is a good place to live, and a lot of things are still waiting to be done. A huge market is waiting. But untill this market develop completely, you have to create your own solutions.
(belive me: That gave us a lot of handwork... I wouldn't be silly to loose my time with such thing if it was that easy just go out and buy a set of better and lighter wheels...)

Lots of money too, isn't it? Well, when you really enjoy it, this low kind of thing isn't a problem!
Congratulations!
P.S.: 8 450 RPM... Does this thing idles?

These are the wheels... We had other models too, and we had without the central bolt. just normal or five bolts...
P.S.: Those central lug bolts are for real, not some kind of cap...

A little correction: We had them in 16 and 17, never 18.
