I have a 1999 v 1.0l 12v Corsa.

After it being in the garage all day yesterday to get the electrics, this morning on the way to work the oil light came on.

It comes on when i slow down and when im standing still in traffic. Does this mean it is low on oil?

If you havent guessed already im not too clued up about this sort of thing, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

firstly mate dont use the car for a few hours and let it cool down then check the oil levels first.

right. the car has stood still for two and a half hours now and i've just checked the oil.

On the bottom of the dipstick there is a red tab. the oil is up to maximum. what does this mean if the light is coming on then?

maybe a sensor fault!
