omly thing i dont understand is that the dials i have have done 80k ish and the sensor has gone yet other dials last for 140k??

update..
changed the dials still does it
so could it be the speedo gear? the bit that sits in the gearbox that drives the speedo cable?
the speedo works thou...

i would say your barking up the wrong tree mate.. how may electrical connections you got on your g/box, if its two that would be a vehicle speed sensor, but as far as i am aware the earlier 1.6s had the crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor and throttle positionsensor, and air mass meter to determine engine load conditions.
is the light on constantly btw?

no light only comes on occasionly
normally when slowing down using the gears
and if the light is on if you press the clutch in i can somtimes stall
it has a new cranshaft position/angle sensor the one by the drive belt
where are the others i think theres 1 by the camshaft pulley and i dont know where the throttle one is
yes has a air mass meter

hope i aint speakin too soon, but.... sorted , just removed a digidash, think that upset it a bit so i redid all my bodgy wirin and had a blast

so it could still be the sensor on the clocks?
right i also thought it could the the throttle position sensor not telling the icv to open when the throttle is closed?
if that make sense
