i started off in a 1.2 8v, the insurance i got was 750 fully comp, now a year on since insured ive got a 1.4 16v in there and basically a sport spec with interior and electric everything, and its only 50 quid more yet twice the power, so if you have the money for a conversion its a decent proposition to get a base model and do it up slowly, that way your not only building up, no claims but experience before you get some 'proper' power
