no common mistake made by most the RX8 uses the same block as the RX7 (13b) its 603cc per rotor thus making 1306cc , but due to power output and balanced PS it is commonly though to have 2600cc .

Its something to do with more than one rotor face bein in use at once.
Think in terms of the engine being a six cylinder engine, each cylinder has 654cc capacity, and there will always be four of the six with fuel in them (either on intake or compression stroke). Therefore, 4x654cc=2616cc.
Technically however, the figures are given for just two of the rotor faces, leaving 1.3 as the engine size.
Hope that makes sense, as Nismo says, gets confusing...
