My car just failed it's MOT on the drivers side Track Rod End
I have bought a new one from Vaux, and have a Haynes handy, how hard is this to change?
I know I need to have the tracking re-done afterwards, but is this a job I can do myself?
Cheers! Jon

piece of piss... jack up, wheel off, adjustable spanner, off and on (keep an eye on what thread the old one was screwer up to, i'd recommend using a bit of tape.) The hardest bit in my opinion is getting the end out of the fitting it sits in, unscrewing it is a piece of piss.
once you're done, go to the garage and get the tracking done.

Right, update:
Vaux wanted £60+ to fit the track rod end
I phoned my mate (who's a mechanic) for advise, and he said bring it down, I'll do it (for a pint!)
Tracking has just been done, and car has passed on the re-test
Damn Vauxhall £38 for a track rod end
