ok cheers, its mainly because i ordered a wheel and tyre package from wheel-base and i was expecting budget tyres like before which were really bad.

i had toyos they were spot on in all conditons with the 1.4
when the gsi engine went in they couldnt cope

what that they cudnt cope with the GSi??

why not? its my experience i had them so that what im saying,

if someone has had them they can say if they were bad or not and the lad can make a informed decision based on good/bad stories about em.

were are you getting the figures from

1.4 8v hitorq 60bhp
to
110-115bhp gsi engine

thats more than 19bhp more like a 50bhp jump

Put it this way, a tyre can potentially cope with 200mph say but the car will only be capable of 130mph. I fail to see how your tyres couldnt cope with the gsi engine.

they spun up, couldnt get traction as good with the gsi engine in 1st and 2nd sometimes 3rd
where as with the 8v engine they were fine

also with the gsi engine they wore a lot faster

Which Toyo tyres? T1-S's I'm guessing? I like 'em, I found them nice and grippy most of the time... And they don't cos me very much now

not heard bad stories about toyo proxes...??? is this the ones..

And adam sorry m8 was just saying didn't think the tyre would struggle to cope with a gsi..not exactly a fast car but thats your personal opinion...
