When I did my h/gasket I didn't change the timing belt. However I had to stretch it to go over the pully which wasn't easy and could have damaged it. I'm gonna change it even though it looks fine. It would be easier to change it, cos you can remove the plastic part which will get in the way.
Basically my guide with no of boilts in brackets
Undo exhaust to manifold spring bolts from underneath the car (2)
Release exhaust downpipe from the exhaust manifold
Remove the plastic top cover on the timing belt (3)
Remove the camshaft pully bolt from the camshaft and remove the pully (1)
Remove two bolts from the back plastic casing
Remove head bolts as shown in the haynes in the correct order, throw them away
Pull the camshaft plastic cover off the head part sideways
Rock the head assembly until it pulls of, get a mate to help lift or hold it, cos it will be about 20kg.
Lift it enough to get the old gasket out. Quickly run over the mating surfaces with a dry towel removing all dirt.
Put new gasket on, gently locate the head back onto the block, dip a screw driver down each hole to make sure theres no water or oil.
If you don't check, the pressure of the head bolts could caue the block to crack.
Put new bolts back in, tighten each one in stages until torqued up correctly.
Put camshaft back cover back on and secure, replace camshaft pulley, replace timing belt, replace timing belt cover.
Attach exhaust and replace the oil and coolent if you want.

I forgot one vital thing, the camshaft and head part will seperate when you release the head bolts, so what I would do is use some short bolts and nuts, to hold these two together without throwing all the bits inside about. You will also need some green glue from vauxhall which will seal this join its not cheap - about £7.
