What size of wheels with tyres are best for handling and cornering ? I currently have a set of 7x17s with 205/40 and it handles like a 3 legged pig in a bath. I want to change to something that will hold the road better and was considering 14s of an SRi and GSi because this is what VX put on so I assume they must have done something right when making the Corsa.
Any ideas ?

Big wheels you need to lower the car a lot. Low profile gives good traction but bumpy ride. You best off with big profile and small wheel, like f1 cars.

Thanks. Was either going to be 15s of a Corsa C SXi or 14s off a B SRi.

16'S with 40mm drop - do the same with 15's and you will be scrapping alot of speedbumps and the bottom of the manifold will be abused too!

There is no point putting the standard vx 14'' cos its not wide enough. The wider the footprint of the tyre, the better the grip, again like formula 1 cars. My corsa sport has standard 14'' wheels and its not that grippy, even on new goodyears.
