Anyone clued up on RAID systems here?

and changing IP, hostname on Solaris (SPARC) boxes???

basically..... is

sys-unconfig

OR

editing the following files:

/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname.hme0

changes in the three files that are in /etc/net directory

IP address can just be changed by editing /etc/hosts

yes???

I'd say RAID5 TBH, not an awful lot of point in just setting up 0?

IP changes on Solaris - from my limited experience, I'd say change the /etc/inet/hosts file, and make sure the appropriate /etc/defaultrouter and /etc/netmasks file are right.

They want you to setup raid0 across 4 disks? Why? theres no redundancy there?
You want raid 5 or 2 mirrored raid arrays? but theres not much point in that either.

Don't know anything about solaris....

yip.... RAID 1 or 5 seems more logical, 0 is just pointless!!

Think i'll just do a sys-unconfig (init state 1 aye? ) for the IP/hostname
