Audison 1.400 Mono Amp

2 x JL 12W3V2 D4 Subwoofers

Nominal Diameter: 12 inches (300 mm)
Continuous Power Handling: 300 Watts
Voice Coil: 2.25" diameter, 4-layer, Kapton former

The subs will be wired to 1 ohm, so the 2 300w RMS subs will be given 450w RMS each.

Any opinions on this setup???

a cap, maybe. What H/U r u using to run it?
all the components look really good, and up 2 a nice sounding system. just installation which is the key really (wiring kit, sound deadening, sub enclosure) get all them right & I think it'll be brilliant.

I have an older alpine MP3 hu, will be including a cap and new alternator/sound deadening.

Also boot build will be fibreglass/perspex....

aye, like copywrite said, make sure wiring and boxes are up to scratch

And remember, a cap comes last in the power line. New battery and alt first...once it runs fine from there, get a cap just to smooth it all out

dont get a cap, waste of time in my opinion. like the comps and amps very much. nice sub aswell but have u maybe thought about just going for one sub and putting abit more money into it? jl w7 for instants? looks like it has potential though mate

i used to have a w7 but recently upgraded to a image dynamics max12. superb sq and can drop very low with little power. where abouts are u guna put the comps mate?

have u thought about making kick builds to house both the mids and tweeters? could help in the image and sound stage drastically? the focal tweeters maybe very bright in the doors.

well, both my dad and painz have them fitted in doorsand they sopund mint to me so i douldt id notice the difference.

One change i am goinb to make is to use the 2.500 amp, giving the comps a bit more juice.

yeah box design is the one bit im not sure about, i need 2 boxs of a 'interesting' shape to fit into the right hand corner of the boot.

Any help or advice u can give me to do with boxs wud be appreciated mate, as i am going to be doing the whole install myself.

are you looking at ported or sealed box? Are you looking for really good sound quality and not so much volume or looking for decent sound quality with more volume or really loud volume?
