pfft this is stupid, these applications are breaking because of the firewall, if you install any other firewall product which is set to deny all outside and inside by default then of course applications will not be able to function like they should.
anyone here have winxp SP2 experience? I loaded it onto a test laptop at home, turned the firewall off and everything is running fine, so far

i remember sp2 for office 2k. That was good. it sorted out security issuse as in it stopped you doing anything!

Yep im running it on a test machine here but havent noticed anything yet!

yeah all these problems are firewall related, lusers not able to configure it correctly or turn it off and use another product.
