Does it p*ss anyone else off when the shitty government think that the only reason ppl do well in their A Levels is because the exams are "getting easier"
They even said on the news that Uni's are thinking about makin students do dissatations (sp!) to get into Uni so they can separate the naturally intelligent from those who just worked hard, I.e. unless ur born brainy you have no hope of getting a degree and a good job
I worked bloody hard for my A Levels and this kind of slating is well out of order
rant over

due to the high pass rate........people naturally assume that the exams are easy
but if ther was only say.......45% pass rate.........people would also assume that the tests are rather difficult

Maybe it's cos as long as you get an A, B, C, D or E you pass?
The only way to fail would be to get a U, in that case you either choose the wrong subject, or you're a lazy cnut

A-C passes are on the increase too though, but i dont think exams are getting easier. I do think the mini dissertation is a good idea though...

I did my A levels last year, the main thing that i noticed was the jump between AS and As compared to GCSE and AS. I had 40% attendance for maths AS, was predicted a D, so sat down for one day at home on my own, 2 days before the exam, taught myself the book and got 94%.

There is a huge gap between GCSEs and A Levels, and then the same huge gap between A Levels and degree standard work (unless you're doing some kind of dosser course maybe?), which can be a real shock, it was to me anyway...
