What will I need to do this? will it cost extra on insurance? breakdown cover? any extra tax's?

Your Licence is Eu anyway so you can legally drive anywhere in the EU.

Usually insurance company standard cover should cover you to drive in the EU but double check this - mine is actually written on the back of my insurance certificate.

breakdown cover? Do you have any anyway? If so then phone them up and they should upgrade you to euro cover for minimal cost.

Tax's nope none at all - buit cheaper fuel is nice so brim your tank before you get back in the UK.

check your policy.i have to pay extra to drive abroad.also if you have breakdown cover you will have to upgrade it to cover you abroad aswell.apart from that just a gb sticker and headlight deflectors

You also need other things, well you dont need them, but i think if the police check you you'll get a fine for not having them. Things such as first aid kit, spare bulb kit and warning triangle.

I bought them all before i went from halfords, and then returned them all when i got back, and got my money back

Usually for insurance you will need to inform them and they'll send you a "green card" its a kind of temp euro policy

when i went lastmonth just got aa cover abroad, checked insurance was valid, got extra insurance sorted out n stuf like that. Well wierd at 1st drivin on wrong side kept drivin like in england
