My engine managment light has come on, my car idle's at about 1200 RPM now and the needle moves up and down, any ideas? i know this is gonna be expensive too. ??

i have heard that induction kits cause this type of thing? as the engine sucks in all the grease and stuff and it coats the sensors? cud this be true??

i took my induction kit off as it does make em splutter and get flat spots etc, but sounds like ICV imo, im gettin mine done tmoz

yeah does happen but normally causes upset on GSIs with air flow meters

mine is a 1.6 sport, the guy at the garage sez he is gonna clean the throttle body and the breathers? he sez this cud b the problem.... lets hope so as the other things sounds expensive!

IACV are £82 from vaux mate or £70 from local parts places eg PARTCO, Advanced Motor Components etc

ICV's are around £50-£60 from Auto Vaux (http://www.autovaux.co.uk)

if ya got a sport X16XE engine they are a nightmare to work on so a garage will charge you a fair whack to fit the ICV

my engine management light came on when i had my induction kit on so i took it off and reset the ecu and it was fine.
put my induction kit on last week and its just started to come on again, i think i know where the problem lies!
