OK i've pulled out the old ones and i cant fit my Panasonics in to the hole as its the wrong shape any ideas how i can get around this problem?

cant i take the plastic bit off the standard ones that are there??

No, you need to make an MDF baffle for the speaker to be mounted on - this will sotp the speaker reverberating so much with the door, therefore slightly better quality. Nothing will match Dynamat though.
