ok I bin offered a decat pipe for 25squid, sounds good to me like, but if the lambda sensor reads from the cat will it get confused etc? will it improve performance and sound? hes letting me fit it to my car b4 purchasing it but I dont wanna kill the lambda

is this on a C16XE?
the lambda sensor is in the exhaust manifold nowhere near the CAT. So decatting won't affect it.
Mine has been decatted for 3 years with no problems. Obviously you need to put it back in for MOT time. The big difference performance wise was it removed a flat spot I had at approx 3.5K rpm also I'm getting about an extra 30-40 miles to each tank.
The only downside is the extra noise. It's very boomy at cruising rpm and raspy top end.

okies well i got the decat pipe on loan for now, gonna try the car with the cat for a few days when it finally gets the 1600 treatment, then Im going to try it with decat n compare
