nismo, why dont you get your car setup for normal unleaded? would save you loads on the odd mulla
tbh though, who cares...fuel is fuel and i doubt there is much difference (or any mega noticable performance) between the expensive shite BP and Shell market with flashy ad campaigns and you local fuel station. Most of it is down to how BP and Shell market their fuel, and people say "oh my car is alot faster and pulls better etc etc", but unless the car is setup for that fuel then its all in your head
start pumping in 110+ racing fuel, then you will notice a difference, but then again you need to get your car setup to get a mega noticable gains
dunno really , cost to much probally , if i have to fill up with normal Unleded the car runs like shit , its like putting diseal in it , just coughs and spurts every where and doesnt pull.
aye, majority of jap cars are setup to run their decent supply of fuel they get, hence why you car runs like cack I doubt it would cost a bomb to get it setup to run super UL fuel (cheaper than bp/shells stuff), which would give you a nice saving a year
But then again, im not 100% on all of this....ive just been reading an article my old man gave to me about fuels etc etc But i cant see any ill side affects for running Super UL fuel in a jap car

isnt that just driving style though?
i cant see any scientific reason why using a possible higher ron fuel would reduce the amount of fuel the engine is sucking in
eitherway, ive yet to find anything on the internet that compares UK fuel against each other Would be an interesting experiment me thinks - well Super Unleaded vs Bp/Shell high marketed fuels

Collision theory... GCSE Science, but the difference would be minimal, also Vauxhall ECU's are self learning and the new ones don't have RON plugs so they can make use of the higer rated stuff...

I work for Tesco so I'll enquire tomorrow at work if I am near the garage.
I don't use supermarket petrol tho. For no other reason that it's habbit to go to the Esso at the end of my road. It's no more expensive than supermarkets.

never new that...learn something new every day
although surely an aftermarket ECU mapped to a specific fuel, would be even better?

confused about proper car. I thought we all owned proper cars unlike kids who own toy cars
as for the turbo comment you could either have a larger displacement engine say a 1.8 with 125hp or a 1.4 turbo with 130hp. both cars say 0-62 in 8ish seconds. also I never put the turbo on my car

Why not buy a bottle of octane booster for £4 and add it to every tank, works wonders on the supra
Good car needs gooooood fuel

Agreed.
I use Tesco all the time, because it's cheaper than the Esso and Total garages down the road. Also, diesel is the same everywhere.

Yea, say you had a Unichip mapped for RON 98 then you'd be looking for the best Combo, really though, the Optimax stuff is a placebo making people think their car is faster than it is... The difference is barely noticable. When I tried it I put in 4 full tanks of the stuff and didn't notice any difference really, and on my motorbike it felt like the throttle was less responsive if anything...

Still use 91 RON over here, but also BP Ultimate, Shell Optimax and Esso Synergy which is around 99RON.
