The alpine is the worst amp of the 3, it looks nicer but thats it.

Of the 3 id get the rockie one, a far superior amp.

quality of the internals, power output.....

Its sound quality that is not good with alpine stuff, far too harsh.

The rockie is a quality amp, designed to run much more power than the alpine and would IMO sound better.

Ask in any high quality car audio place , they wont reccomend alpine stuff.

I swapped my alpine 4 channel for an audison 2 channel and the sound now is sooo much better its unreal, anyone whos heard it can attest to that.

Im still running a alpine MRD-M300 mono amp and its garbage tbh. Its gutless and really struggles to run my sub, (as you know kev!!) and as soon as i can afford a audison mono its gonna get changed aswell.

Its all IMO tho, if you want the alpine go for it your choice at the end of the day, and you wont be dissapointed with the looks of it, alpines gear looks very nice, its just the sound thats the problem

yeh, i do agree with you on this point. Although, setting up is the key and i must admit they are a bitch to do. But when they are set up right they do sound very nice.

As for the electronics part of it i dont know how you say they are not very good quality. The MOSFET power supply is really good - when you get a nice big bass note, it has a very fast rise and fall times allowing it to pull current when and how the music wants it to plus they use nice big capacitors to aid this further. The transformer that they use is also a quality component, they are very low current leakage even when loads of power is involved. The output transistors that they use have a very high efficiency which allows the amp to switch over and process both half cycles of the waveform very well. And also, as they are a PURE digital amp and not a HYBRID (which many are) they do away with the preamplifier stage and therefore they are a lot more accurate on pulse timing. As soon as the signal is fed into the amp, is its processed by the A/D converter stage immediatly, processed and amplified (in one stage), and then processed by the D/A converter right at the output.

So, as for the quality of the internals, i must disagree with you.

i have read alpines hype on there parts aswell, but you must remember there amps are designed for japanese music....

Have a listen to some and you will see the differences with ours lol!

Alpine monos are ok just a bit underpowered for their rating, why they insist on calling it a M300 when it wil nigh on never give out 300 is misleading.
Its output really is between 150 -250 rms max.

Like wise the 1000w rms will never give out 1000wrms as no ones car has that perfect powersupply that can keep a steady 14.4v.

Good quality makes JL etc.. list their power outputs at real world 12- 13.6 v that cars can attain.

The main problem with alpine is in their full range amps, due entirely to the music they are designed for not a lack of know how on alpines part. Their ams are very scratchy, with extremely harsh trebble when compared with many other manufacturers.

All these things together are what are making me reccomend the others.

I WONT say alpine are bad amps because there not, but the post was a question as to which of the 3 is best, and i can honestly say the best one is NOT the alpine.
