Alright, Elephant.co.uk are cheapest by far, but the catch is your policy is only 10 months, but the bonus is you get 1 years no claims 2 months before everyone else! Also another tip is put your mum (if she can drive) as SECOND driver, because the insurance look at it that youll be driving less, and be less likely to crash! Believe me it works, i had a 1.4 8v SRi at 18 with no yrs no claims and my policy was £750 TPFF. Plus im a mechanic which puts it up anyways! One last thing, put your milage at less than 5k, and put it parked in garage. Good luck!

mate, only really way is to get a parents to be put on as the MAIN driver - you will then be only paying around 500-600 quid

However, im paying 1100 on a 1.2 T reg corsa B with 0ncbs from Sainsbury's insurance. Seriously they are cheap as chips - i phoned up about 20 insurers from the list on CS + a few other and everyone else wanted from 1400 to 7k Plus sainsbury's insure your ICE to a grand, which a nice little feature that other insurers didnt offer (majority of them are only 300 quid etc).

p.s - wacking on a parent as second driver rarely does anything. In my case, it would put up my insurance by 90 quid if someone else on my insurance

It did to mine

Try Admiral and if at all possible get your own insurance and don't be a named driver on parents insurance. The sooner you build up no claims the sooner you can insure a better car

Mine went up when I added my parents with my current insurer. It went down when I did a quote with Admiral/Elephant, but was still £800 more! .
Directline were cheapest for me when I passed.

how refreshing it is to see somone who is sensible at getting a 1.2 corsa for their first car.

Most 17 year olds are looking for 1.6 GSi's 2lts or 5.7lt chevy big block corsa as a first car
