just bought a set of these for my corsa 1.6 sport with the tarox pads and there's something seriously wrong went out to test them and all seemed ok so picked up a bit of speed stopped hard once and there was smoke pouring out from both sides!! thought my engine was on fire there was so much smoke, but it was the breaks! is this normal, do they just need to be worn in! not even the standard vauxhall ones did this

You should always allow the discs to bed in otherwise you'll warp them very easily. The smoke could be from portective coats on the disc and pads. whip the hweels off and check them.

Most brake discs come with a kind of oily substance on them to prevent them corroding in storage, usually have to clean this off before you fit them...
Just a thought, I could be wrong.

Like mark said bed em in for 200miles, but NO heavy breaking, if you heat the pads up too quick from new the breaks will never work at their full potential, i fear you have done this, i have never had smoke when bedding disk in although my V6's caugh on fire once
