He wants to play hl2 so hes asking me to build him a computer.

Ive never built a computer from scratch but ive upgraded pc's and know what each component does etc etc and have installed windows from scratch from format so should be ok.

But does anyone have a guide just to make sure? Any good ones online, had a look in google theres one or two guides but has anyone come across one thats helped them with good photos etc etc.

Also when building a pc from scratch and then switching the pc on is the motherboard already installed (i.e no installation of the motherboard) and install windows straight from there....)

Its all easy, just boot the system from the windows cd when u start it.... select the boot device in the bios settings
