I can kepp up with my mates Zetec S till about 105mph in my 1.4 16V Sport with a panel filter.
My mate in his Audi 80 1.8 thought he'd blitz me too, but thats very close too 100mph.

Theres a rolling road in reading quite close to me so i'm gonna get the car analysed and see if they find the problem. I don't wanna start modding the engine until its running right to start with.

Bloody hell, the VTR 0-60 is about 9...so is the GSI so it will be pretty close.. if both had racing drivers in I bet the GSI would be a nose quicker to 60... the 1.4 16Vwould be a car lengths behind... cos the 0-60 is 10secs.. all these figures maybe crap if any of the cars are not running right or heavier driver etc.. However.... If a 8stone VTR driver is driving against a 20Stone GSI driver i'd expect the VTR to win.... Its all about i whether the car is running right and power to wieght...But they are all about the same, when i had my sport i would have a crack at anything  found myself suprising Mondeo V6 owners at traffic light grand prix coz i knew how to launch the old corsa Other times i'd get beat by zetec-s's on the twisties...

You will get beaten by Zetec-S on all twisties modded or none modded.
My Koni suspensioned SXi was only just a match for Pishtec-S around bends.

thats what i say,
the difference's in 1.4 and 1.6 can be made up by a dodgy gear change etc, anything really, 1 sec is like u say about a cars length.
