I would just keep the battery disconnected and try and get someone to come out and look at it for you...
Have you checked fuses etc.?

Checked fuses and all ok..
got it jumped with leads and fired up straight away..
took it for a wee run and running good and smooth...everything seems to be working...ticking over fine...
no nasty noises or anything...going to go to garage and get alternator and batt checked etc...
cheers

Battery might have been flat - if it's new, could be alternator not charging it, but then the battery light on the dash would have remained on if that was the case.
Very weird... Only other thing I can think of is something is sapping the battery power when the engine is off?

updated again...back from garage..................
Drove to garage...car running smooth and sweet....Felt good...........
Then at garage it died again...same thing.....Alrm chirping away to itself..Batt ok...slight drain but not that...Jumped with leads again and started 1st time..Brought it home and Auto electrician going to come out and have a look for me....
I personally think it's something to do with the Toad alarm..Will wait and see.............
No fried wires or anything like that...(ALARM NOT BEEN INSPECTED THOUGH)
tried it a few times since it's been sitting in driveway and starts 1st time?????
will wait and see what Electrics guy says.........

I had similar fun and games with the Clifford alarm on my old Astra, poxy thing wouldn't disarm or go into valet mode, dash lights were all dead etc.
Basically the installer didn't wire up the ignition/immobiliser wires properly.
