buy a gold back fender jagotang, with trembuckers and a built in set of effects

or just get a cheap strat copy from argos to learn with

If you want to learn first of all what would you rather play? Acoustic or electric? Electric your gonna need an amp too. If you wanna learn electric go for a Fender stratocaster copy and get a package that includes the amp. I started off on the electric and i regretted it though because its hell of alot harder to play the acoustic now.

You'd be better off starting on acoustic IMHO.

u might as well buy a cheap 200£ fender strat copy from argos/index.
if u chose to continue learning then invest in something fancy later on.

no point in spending 100's on a guitar and let it collect dust.

and if u can learn the acoustic at the same time, get your fingers accustomed to the difference early.

What ways the best to learn?? go to a professional for lessons or go the self taught route and buy a book??

Get a nice Tanglewood acoustic - they sound really sharp, the lad in my band uses one.

erm.. you can selfteach yourself.. i did

i have been playing for 10 years now.. (god damn!) im ok but not as good as i could have been by now if id have taken lessons

look at the washburn acoustics.
been playing for 2 years, self taught, very easy to learn but hard to master.
