My mums corsa is still using way too much fuel (70 miles on £20)....
The garage said it was either temp sensor or lambda sensor and have changed both, after that didn't cure it they just said "It needs a new ECU" but gave no explanation as to why!! When she got the car back I did the paperclip test and it gave oxygen sensor fault and MAP sensor fault....I then reset ECU and all codes went and management light hasn't come back on since......Am I right in thinking the oxygen sensor is the lambda sensor?? So is the MAP sensor the problem??
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, there are no leaks and the car seems to be running ok although does idle/rev slightly high at times....Cheers

MAP sensor will cause it to run rough & pos overfuel... but ECU will complain
lambda is oxygen sensor on the c12nz
give the ICV a quick clean, but then again the MAP will also cause idling issues
may be worth getting the injector cleaned or pick up another from a scrappy... cleaned the injectors on the GSI a month ago & fuel economy is sooo much more better now! runs better too!

Aye thats what I thought if it was the map sensor then management light would be on again Is the ICV a cock to get to on them? Also what is involved with cleaner the injector?

Yup Idle Control Valve = ICV. Still don't think wank ICV would cause that mucho of a petrol consumption problem tho
