I also live in slough - but go to uni in reading - so only in slough at weekends holidays.
What, you're actually staying in Reading during term time? It's only a 20 min drive down the M4 from Slough
Depends how fast your going...if you go around 130 Mph
It's 23 miles. On a Motorway. Ok, the M4's not the fastest of roads, but you can still muster a steady 70.
haha he's commenting on the speeds I was doing with him following, going back home from reading the other day down the m4
Nah - It's all good, I looked a load of different uni's but Reading was a good one that did my course. I could of gone to things like Oxford / cambridge - but they arn't that great for Computer Science so I didn't.
Reading is pretty decent for it - and one of my mates at uni has come from Australia to study at reading and flies back at christmas and stuff haha.
But generally it means I'm far enough away to have indepence, live on my own and have a laugh with mates etc - but close enough that I can come home if the whole family are doing something or if there's something wrong with my car and I want my dad to check it out, etc!

Oh and also - you may think its only 20 mins away - but its not.
It may only be 24 miles from Reading to slough - but I don't live in slough, I live above it. So takes about 10 mins to get through slough onto the motorway and that, say 10-15 mins to get to reading, then another 10 mins or whatever to then get to uni on a good day!
So I couldn't really make that trip back and forth every time I had a lecture. As it is - I use about 1/8th - 1/4 of my tank making that journey one way!!! Since lectures are spread all over the place with like several hour gaps in between, it'd be crazy to live at home. Plus you'd miss out on all the good times.
Could be worse - I could of gone to Brunel haha - like 6 miles away from home.

yeh one of my old mates goes to brunel and lives in iver heathe - so its literally like 2 miles away. Lives at home. Personally I think he's missing out.
People who I live with at Reading - go home probably the same amount of times I do, but they have to shell out shit loads for train fairs or petrol - where as I just drive home a lot closer. I don't see why you have to move 100 miles or more to have fun?
I was going to goto canterbury kent that'd be like 3 hrs drive away - but to be honest I'm glad I didn't - with some of the shit that has happened back home / to my car at uni etc.

Yeah - Quick, get me outta here!
