right, ive been going to the gym for about 6 months, and training hard/dieting properly for the past month. i go at least 5 times a week and have been making good progress BUT recently when i go to lift my arms out to the side my shoulders almost always 'click' am really getting into the gym but dont want to get arthriteis in 10 years time any1 with any info or advice on this please post

do you do just weights or do you do lots of dips, and push ups etc as they are the best way to move your muscles into their best position, if ya get me. using your own body weight as supposed to bench presses and dumb bells etc

Unless it hurts mate i wouldn't worry about it.It's just muscle and tendons recovering and not supporting your shoulders properley i rekon.
Oh and if your doing weights 5 times or more a week then it's too much.At least have a week off every 4 weeks if your gonna carry on.

nope, not really. i never train at weekends so i always have a couple of days off a week.i do alternate muscle groups giving them 48 hours to recover between.

IMHO wouldnt recommend taking a week off at a time... a day or two, or alternating muscle groups and body parts is enough to avoid over training syndrome...

mine click too, want to go swimming but i can only do the breast stroke and they click on every stroke.

myn click all the time too, take codliver oil capsules suposed to help lubricate joints etc

3 at most, 4 if your advanced!

my shoulders click too,i used to do 5 a week.dont do it at all now,just walk the dug frequently,going to start back @ 3 a week

my shoulders click but only wen i hold my arm in the air so my arms are pointing directly upwards then if i bring my arm down backwards it clicks and hurts im a plasterer so it dnt half give me sum stick

cheers for the replies, no they clicks dont hurt and ive been taking cod liver oil daily for as long as i can remember,and i drink quite alot of milk. hopefully im not doing my joints any damage
