Going to change my c20xe soon, was going to go for a LET but i've moved away from the idea and am going by another XE to rebuild, re-bore etc.
Whats the best to put on, twin webbers or TB's? Don't really know much about either? What sort of gains would i get from each?
Cheers chaps

Speak to Lee Mitchell. I spoke to him not long bk. he sed TB's are good but ure get more bhp for ure money with a turbo, but a bigger repair bill if summat goes wrong.
i think a standard turbo is 205bhp...Not sure tho. I think a 2ltr on TB's is about 180bhp.

Yeah i was set on a LET, but i think the XE would be easier to work on if anything went wrong, compared to the LET, like you say big repair bill!
Do i build a LET, new turbo, re-bore with new pistons, software upgrade.......wouldn't get much change out of 5k with buying the engine i dont think.
OR do i spend 3 grand on an XE doing that to its maximum.....so frigging unsure........decisions decisions!
I'm bored of my standard XE so something has got to go and be replaced.

TB's
You get permanent power & better traction. Repair bill wont be as high if it goes tits up & the sound is

My mate used to have a burnt orange Nova, it was often on the Kingdom Stand, it was on TB's, sounded the nuts and went like jooo fcuk, i think the LET is favourable because i can have a dump valve lol Would prefer to spend my money on an XE that way i can make it look the dogs for a bit less wonger.

I would choose the TB's they sound great, and power throughout the rev range, and less expensive to repair if things were to go poop.
but if you want more power go for the turbo!
i understand how hard this is to decide, i wouldn't be able to decide either!

its possible to get 290bhp from throttle bodies. Why not go for 250bhp from a 1.6 on throttle bodies, and a 10k rev limit?

Your joking right? You'll need £10k to do that.

3k would get you about to the SBD TP225 spec.
Also with N/A engines you get better fuel economy at cruise, and much more simple to maintain aswell.

Because he might not have £10k going spare, or the money to rebuild the engine every thousand miles

2.1 with TB's and NOS! Sounds alright to me, only going to be a summer car anyway.
